According to the AODA’s Customer Service Standards, One of TWO conditions must apply for your animal to be considered a service animal:

You can ask Your Customer if their dog is a Services Dog by asking to see a letter or a prescription from a regulated Health Professional
Businesses are only allowed to ask Whether the Customer is disabled and how their Dog helps them.
All Service Animals MUST be Trained or Certified by a recognized disability-related organization.
A Customer will only require a Services Animal If They Have Reduced or Limited Vision
